New Weather Station

I think it’s true that once you become interested in Astronomy you also have no choice but to become interested in the weather too.

The online weather forecasts I was using at the time where about as accurate as Michael Fish in 1987 so I bought myself a simple little weather station to keep an eye on things as much as I could (not in 1987 though!)

Just recently I’ve wanted to get my weather online somehow and have some pretty graphs and numbers to look at so I upgraded to a WS2300 It’s mounted on an old mop handle stuck into the garden at the moment so I can see if everything works properly but I hope to get something a little more permanent setup while I am holiday. Not only do I have it upload to Site One and Site Two but I have also registered my station on Weather Underground

So far everything is looking pretty good and as well as permanently mounting things I’m going to have a look at the webpage too and make it a little prettier and slightly more “modern”.

Observation Logs

I stumbled across Observation Manager while digging through Dave Pearson’s observing logs and decided to give it a go. Unfortunately I can’t seem to create more than one observation at a time without having to quit the program and reopen it, but hey ho, other than that it seems to work fairly well.

The link to what I have so far is here.
